Coffee Chip Cookies also Cookie Mix In A Jar.
1 cup shortening
2 cups packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 cup boiling water
2 T instant coffee granules
4 cups all-purpose flour
2 t baking powder
1 t baking soda
4 cups (24 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips
In a mixing bowl, cream shortening and brown sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Combine water and coffee; set aside. Combine the flour, baking powder and baking soda; add to creamed mixture alternately with coffee. Stir in the chocolate chips. Refrigerate for 1 hour. Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls 2 in. apart onto greased baking sheets. Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes or until golden around the edges. Remove to wire racks.
Yield: 3-1/2 dozen.
1 cup Light brown sugar
1/2 cup Granulated sugar
1 1/2 cup M-n-m’s or chocolate chips
2 cup All purpose flour
1 tsp Salt
1 tsp Baking soda
Mix salt and baking soda with flour. Then layer ingredients in jar as desired. Cover lid with a fabric circle and tie with a ribbon.

To make cookies you will need:
Cookie mix in a jar
1 c. butter
1 egg
1 t. vanilla
Directions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Sift jar ingredients through a colander to separate out chocolate pieces from dry ingredients. Beat butter in a medium bowl until fluffy. Beat sifted dry ingredients into butter until blended.
In a small bowl, beat egg and vanilla. Mix beaten egg mixture into butter mixture until blended. Stir in chocolate pieces. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased baking sheet. Bake 8 minutes or until lightly browned. Makes 55 cookies.
